FASHION WITH VEE - PSA

Hey guys!

Just a quick post, actually more like a public service announcement. By now you should know that I love all aspects of beauty. That includes fashion and today I saw some fashion DON’Ts that needed to be addressed. I’m no fashionista and I’ve had my share of fashion faux pas just like anyone else but I’d like to think that I have a basic knowledge of what NOT to do. If you have ever left your house look looking like this… PLEASE. STOP. It hurts my eyes.  

There are so many things to say about this picture... I don't even know where to start...

1. BLOND ISN'T FOR EVERYONE.

Unless your name is Blue-Eyed-Becky-From-Wisconsin (or Lil Kim), you have no business doing this to yourself. Point - blank.

2. ROOTS ARE NOT REALLY YOUR FRIEND.
I know, I know you can sometimes make 'em work but this just wasn't one of those times.

3. THE HAIR ON YOUR AMRS SHOULDN'T BE LONGER THAN THE HAIR ON YOUR HEAD.
I think that's a law somewhere... and if it's not, it should be. I'm sure the good people at Locks of Love would be more than happy to take that hair of your arms... uh I mean hands... You get what I'm saying.

4. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BRUSHING YOUR HAIR.
 Dreads anyone? 

5. BEIGE BRAS ARE NOT SEXY.
Ladies. We all have wardrobe malfunctions at one point or another. I get it. But please help yourselves and wear appropriate undergarments. I mean if you're gonna show some strap at LEAST show me something from Vicky's. SMH.

 This was a hot-mess-dot-com.

Note: This post was written both for entertainment and educational purposes. So though I hope you do get a good laugh from this I am also hoping that you’ll have learned something. I assure you that I will never show any of the faces of any “fashion victim” seen here – they’ve embarrassed themselves enough. (lol)

This post is dedicated to all the nails lost in the struggle…

My nails have never looked this good. EVER. I trim, moisturize and paint them regularly. Needless to say I just about shriveled up and died when the nail on my index finger got taken out last night. By what you ask? By a damn strand of hair! SMH. I had a tiny tear on the side that I was patching up with nail glue but a strand of my hair got caught in it and sliced the nail from one end to the other. All I have left is a little stub. (sad face) And to add insult to injury, it just HAD to happen to the index on my right hand. MY SWATCHING HAND! * screams in horror *

So after a small intervention from my sisters (I was considering gluing that sucker back on!) I decided to trim it down and see about adding an acrylic nail to it until it grows back. So I’m not really sure what this is gonna mean in terms of my nail posts but I’m hoping the fake nail will work out. *Sigh*

Here is a pic of the mani I had on when the incident occurred. This is 2 coats of OPI’s Alpine Snow topped off with 2012’s  cracked nail polish in Acid Rain. 

 This look was pretty hot. Too bad I had to take it off so soon.

Hey beauty freaks!

Here are some pics of the polish I’m wearing in the video. OPI’s It’s MY Year is an amazing color. As my sister would say : YOU NEED IT IN YOUR LIFE. lol It’s a gorgeous purple with gold shimmer that runs thoughout and the pictures I took just don’t do it any justice. However you are able to see some of it’s true yumminess in my video.

Lipstick AND polish?!? Oh my!

Well hello to all my lovelies!

 This is gonna be a pretty quick post. Let's start with the nails. I had been meaning to get OPI's Skull & Glossbones ever since the Pirates of the Caribbean collection came out (can you believe I haven't seen the last one yet?!? SHAME!). Because I only have two hands and so many bottles of polish to try, I decided to swatch it for you that way you could at least take a look at it. It's a super light yet "dirty" type of color. *describing colors isn't really my forte*. I then added some cute designs with Konad's special polish in black.

I also have a new vid. The MacBook is still alive which means that iMovie and I are trying to work things out. This was another  request but this time it's about lipstick. I know that it can be difficult as a dark skinned woman to find that perfect shade so this video will give you a few options. Please note that this blog is about beauty in general and is not specifically geared towards black women. This blog is for ALL OF US and the tips presented here can be useful to anyone who wants to learn more about lipstick. You just have to know how to make the information work for you. If you're white or just a lighter shade of brown then look for a lighter colored lipliner.
