Hey loves!
This blog has been getting a whole lot more traffic these past few months so I gotta give a shout out and say thank you to all the readers old and new, you guys keep me motivated.
I hope I'll be able to keep things on track with the blog this week because I am feeling a little worn out. I worked a show over the weekend so I didn't get much sleep and I'm fighting a bad ass cold but have no fear your daily dose of polish is here!
This one is a simple swatch. Two coats of Color Club's Alias over one coat of Essie's Licorice. The color shifting qualities of this polish make me giddy. This polish doesn't need any nail art its a stunner all on its own.

China Glaze Bogie and some stamping!
Hi guys!
I've always wanted to be able to have photographed swatches of my collection. I'm starting slowly but surely. I hope to be able to get through at least half of my collection by the end of the year... We'll see how that works out...
Let's get to the swatch! The polish of the day is China Glaze's Bogie from the 2010 Vintage Vixen collection. The silvery shimmer gives a smokey look to this rich eggplant color. This actually looks much better on the nail than I had expected.
And because I just can't leave well enough alone I decided to break out Essie's Nothing Else Metals and Cheeky plate CH50 (summer collection) for some stamping fun. The print was a little abstract but I decided to give it a go anyway. Not to bad...
Enjoy!

White hot!
Hey loves!
Let's kick off the new week with some hot nails shall we? I did this manicure after seeing it online but I cannot remember where! If you're reading this and you can tell me who came up with this look, please comment below so I can give credit where credit is due.
I love this manicure because it's edgy and would look great with any color combination. I used Essie Blanc and Maybelline Color Show in Bold Gold and chose a nice print for the accent fingers (I think the original was done using a flower print). I settled on the flame design and it worked out great in my opinion. The thumb was left white just for fun.
Is this manicure hot or what?

I love me some watermarbling!
I have not done any watermarbling in OVER a year (I know... shame on me) so I decided to give this technique another go just recently but only as an accent finger. I figured it's better to start small and get myself in back into the habit before going for a full mani. Watermarbling is quite messy which can be discouraging for some (ie: me) so make sure to cover up the surface you'll be working on and to have all you supplies close.
The base color is SH Insta-Dri in Snappy Sorbet. I had actually put down a coat of red polish on the accent finger but it got covered up by my design in the end. The watermarble design was created using my base color along with SH Insta-Dri in Lightening and Essie Blanc.
I love this! I'm so happy it wasn't a hot mess and the clean up was a breeze! This is definitely making me want to try again with different color combinations.
So have you ever watermarbled? If so what's your favorite color combo?

Soooo Tired!!!!!! feat Essie Armed And Ready
Hey loves
I am sooooooooo tired! Ouf! Yesterday was CRAZY! I slept like 3 hours, worked all day, got my kids together, got dinner ready, did my hair and makeup, packed a bag and off I went to La Place Des Arts for a show (doing back vocals for MTL rapper Jean Gardy). Today's the day after and though I slept a few hours, I am still so very exhausted! I've just been all over the place this past week with getting ready for this performance so I think it's an accumulation but now that it's all over with I'm going to have to take the time to recharge my battery.
With that said I want to continue to be faithful to this blog (or at least try to) so here is a stamping manicure I worked on a few weeks ago. Simple but still very pretty.

Pink and 18K gold!
Hola my loves!
Quick post alert! This one is from the archives guys. I did this manicure a few months ago. Winter makes me one grouchy lady (snow + lack of sunlight = yuck) so every once in a while I like to break out some summery shades in an effort to cheer myself up. What better color to choose but pink! Oh and as if that wasn't enough happiness in a bottle I topped it all off with 18k gold!

Animal print for Nadia feat OPI San Tan-Tonio
Happy Monday my loves!
I'm totally blogging from work while on my lunch break so I'll try to make this brief! * stuffs face with chicken salad *
Nadia is a new client who came across some of my work in Instagram. We used to run in the same circles back in the day when I was in church but we hadn't seen each other in a minute and this was her first time getting her nails done by me.
Like a good client, Nadia had sent me a picture of the set she wanted prior to us meeting up.
Once we got together she decided to switch up the color scheme by choosing OPI's San Tan-Tonio as a base. The black accents were created using Essie's Licorice and the leopard print was done with acrylic paint. I had some gold stones but they weren't the right shade so I chose some black stones instead.
So hawt.

Stamping with a holo feat Essie Go Overboard
Happy Tuesday guys,
I love stamping when my nails are short and this time I wanted to try stamping with a holographic polish. Though I had seen this done on many blogs, I had never given it a try for myself. Well now that I have I must say that I do like how this manicure turned out. What you see below is two coats of Essie's Go Overboard and the design was stamped on all of the fingers using Color Club's Harp On It. Fun!
Enjoy,
Vee...xox...

Let freedom ring! feat Essie's Pink Diamond
Hola my loves!
There are certain things about my private life that I don't talk about on my blog but it looks like the storm has passed so I'm feeling a little better about opening up. Last Saturday marked one year since I broke up with my children's father. I was a wreck last year but your girl is back so what did I decide to do on that same day one year later? CELEBRATE! I've got my health, my kids are happy and healthy, I love them and they love me. Sounds like I've got plenty to celebrate! It's a major shock when you find yourself starting over after being with someone for so many years but if you guys knew what I went through last year then you'd know that I've got nowhere to go but up honey!
With that said I left my babies with their aunties and took my happy ass to the casino for dinner and gambling with my girls. What a night! We had security going all kinds of crazy (still LMAO!).
I kept things simple, girly and sparkly with Essie's Pink Diamond as a base and one coat of Essie's A Cut Above for some shine.

The return of hurricane Sandy feat Essie Aruba Blue
Happy Friday good people!
I cannot wait to kick my feet up and relax... I've been feeling a little fried this week so I'm going to try to be good to myself and rest up... a little. As much as the 9 to 5 can be draining, painting nails brings me back to life!
Sandy's back from vacation and wanted to get her nails done by yours truly. The girl had fallen in love with this sapphire blue and just had to have it on her nails. So after giving her a UV gel overlay I painted on two coats of Essie's Aruba Blue. We added some glitter to her ring fingers using Essie's Set In Stones. I love this glitter it gives great coverage and it's not thick or goopy.
Definitely an eye-catcher!

Rock Star Nails feat Essie Mod Square
Hey guys!
Looks like my baby sis' love of skulls has rubs off on me! That little skull image is so darn cute I just had to create another manicure with it. This is another gradient (I just looove those!) but this time I used Essie's Mod Square and SH Lively Lilac. On my accent finger is plain old black polish (forget which brand but any black will do). I added OPI's Teenage Dream to the tip (my very first OPI glitter) and stamped the design using Konad Special polish in white. More stars were added to the thumb and cheetah print everywhere else. Busy nails can be so much fun!

I love polish uh... duh. feat China Glaze Light As Air
Happy Friday!
I'm still Gelished up and my nails are finally growing back out! I'll continue with the back to back Gelish sets until I get to a reasonable length but in between these manicures I usually put together a few looks for fun.
This ode to nail polish was perfect for a lacquer freak like me. I did a gradient on the thumb and ring finger using China Glaze Secret Periwinkle, Light As Air and Essie's Play Date. CG Secret Periwinkle was used on all the other fingers. Finally, I stamped the nails using Maybelline Color Show in Amethyst Ablaze. It's only once I had already uploaded the pics that I noticed that I hadn't done such a good job of cleaning up my ring finger (gradiants are a little messy). Still, you see what look I was going for.
Looks like lacquered love to me!

Sweet Chocolate for Fay Dangerr...
Hey guys!
I've been a busy bee but all work and no play does makes Vee a very dull girl so I was very happy when my girlfriend and client Fay Dangerr called me up to get her nails done. Fay had no idea what she wanted to do to her nails but she did know that she didn't really want to add any enhancements. She also expressed to me how annoyed she was with her breaking nails and how she missed her long claws. With that in mind I recommended that she try Gelish. I explained to her that Gelish would give her the added strength her nails need.
After going through my stash she finally settled on a shade called Sweet Chocolate which is a rich brown with gold shimmer running through it. Brown polish might not be your cup of tea but this one is definitely a stand-out. Right before top coating Fay's nails I stamped a delicate moon design on her ring fingers using Essie's Good As Gold.
Classy and neutral but so far from boring!
Enjoy,

This manicure will last Fay a good two weeks or more with no chips. Loving the shine.
Special thanks to Emmee from Click, Flash, Buzz for the lovely pictures.
