The return of nurse Jenny feat OPI Gel Color in Princesses Rule!

Happy Saturday good people!

The lovely nurse Jenny came back last night for another set of Gelish nails. I really care about the service I give and I know that Gelish is an awesome product but I was curious to get Jenny’s feed back after her first set. She loved it! Being a nurse in pediatric surgery is hard on the hands, you ‘re always washing them or soaking them in some kind of solution. Jenny was able to get a good 2 weeks of chipless color and she couldn’t have been happier. She was also surprised to see how her nails have grown!

Just so we’re clear, Gelish is not a nail growing product and it won’t improve the health of your nails if your claws are already damaged. The reason Jenny was able to achieve such noticeable length is because Gelish is very strong and protects the nail therefore she experienced no breakage.

Nurse Jay picked another soft shade (due to hospital rules). This time she opted for OPI Gel Color in Princesses Rule! Though I do have a preference for Gelish (een over Shellac) OPI Gel Color is another product in the same family. Pricesses Rule! is a sheer pink loaded with shimmer. We did 3 coats to get as much opacity as possible.

Another satisfied customer!

Throwback pics feat Essie's Eternal Enthusiast

Hey loves,

Today’s post is a quickie and a throwback. I wore this polish back in March on the first day at my new job, hence the very short nails. Essie’s Eternal Enthusiast was the perfect pinky nude shade. Super polished. Very work appropriate.

Happy Pink Wednesday feat Claire's Mood Polish

Oh how I’ve missed posting manicures for Pink Wednesday!

*dramatically places hand over heart*

Today’s polish is a fun one.  I picked this baby up on a quick trip across the border with my girl Bella. Claire’s Excited/Bored mood polish is pretty cool. Excited is a coral pink and appears on the free edge of the nail or when the nails are exposed to cool temperatures. Bored is the peachy pink shade that appears on the nail bed or when the nails are exposed to warm temperatures. This polish was streaky and I had to do 3 coats before I was satisfied with the overall look of my nails. You’ll notice that this lacquer has a satin matte finish but that is easily fixed with topcoat.

I’ve placed my hand in cold and hot water to show you the different shades.

Enjoy!

Hoping on the bandwagon feat Gelish Magnito in Inseparable Forces

Hey guys!

Magnetic nail polish has been all the rave for a while now. Though it’s supposed to be the new crackle/shatter of the moment, I’m probably the last person on earth who hasn’t tried it. I already own a Layla magnetic polish but the thing has been collecting dust for months (too many options not enough hands!). I was going through the bin looking for something to swatch when I decided to go for Gelish’s Magneto nail polish in Inseparable Forces. This shade also comes in the soak off gel polish formula (which I also own) but today’s pics are of the traditional formula.

This stuff is actually pretty cool. I just wish I had different designs to play with but this is still awesome. I love this deep blue and the way the magnetic particles look once the design has been created. I don’t know how long this trend will last but I’m enjoying it so far.

What do you think about magnetic polish? Have you tried it yet?

Hot nails feat. Essie's Fifth Avenue

Hi guys!

I don’t know about you guys but I’m ready for warmer weather so I’m trying to get the sun to come out of hiding by wearing a hot red color on my nails. This is 3 coats of Essie’s Fifth Avenue.

I then went crazy with some white acrylic paint and wrote the words HOT, CHAUD and CALIENTE all over the nails.

Face of The Day - Copper smokey look

Hey loves!

Today’s post is a makeup related one! Last night I had the very rare opportunity to go out and have some ‘me’ time. I went out for drinks and some vagabonding in Montreal’s Old Port, which is really beautiful at nighttime.  I wanted to keep my makeup simple but still kinda sexy so I went for a copper smoky look. I also didn’t want anything clashing with my loud candy nails (which the waitress who served us loved!) so I wore all black and accessorized with a skull scarf and a leather jacket (not shown). Here is a list of the products I used to achieve this look:

EYES:

-       Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
-       Wet n Wild Color Icon Palette in Vanity
-       Cargo eyeline in black
-       Rimmel Glam’Eyes mascara in Extreme Black

LIPS:

-       Nars lipgloss in Chihuahua

FACE:

-       Lise Watier Portfolio concealer wheel
-       MAC Sheer loose powder in NW45
-       Nars blush in Taj Mahal

Candy Themed nails feat. Gelish Shake It Til You Samba

Hey loves!

I have been loving my Gelish nails! I’m currently on my 3rd set and my nails look great if I do say so myself. Last night I decided to combine my love for Gelish and 3D nail art. This look is very bold, I decided to use a few molds and give freehand 3D nail art a try. The base color is Gelish’s Shake It Til You Samba with a coat of June Bride on the tips. The accent finger was then painted in Black Shadow. Using acrylic paint, I added some gum balls to the tips and wrote the words “Candy Girl” on the thumb. Finally I made a bow from scratch using green acrylic powder and added it to the ring finger along with some candy shaped embellishments (those were made with a mold). This look is really out there but I like it. 3D molds are great but I think I prefer the freehand embellishments.  The awesome thing is that these can last up to 3 weeks with no chips! One week in my case because I can’t stand having the same polish on for that long.

Enjoy!
