Tipsy posting feat I'm not too sure...

Hi guys!

And so this is Christmas...

So much food and so many drinks. Maybe too many drinks. But anyhoo! This is a tipsy post and so I cannot remember the name of the polishes I used for this look... but if you really care to know you could always ask me in the comment section and I'll find out for you once I sober up.

I do know that the base color is from Sally Hansen Insta-Dri and the ring finger is OPI Alpine Snow. This is a copy cat of the look I had created for Sarah DoubleXL.

Happy holidays to all,

Vee...xox...

Girls' Night pt 2 feat China Glaze & HealthyCurvesInMTL

Hey loves!

As I had previously mentioned, I had a girls' night in Friday night and today I want to show you what the lovely Fabs got done. First I created nail enhancements for her using CND UV gel. This girl is a nail fiend just like I am and she's been on a hunt for her perfect nude. We looked at pictures of nails that Rihanna has sported over the years and went from there.

I chose China Glaze's Sunset Sail and used Maybelline Color Show in Bold Gold for the ring fingers. To that I added two coats of Color Club's Gingerbread.

Mmmmm... Sexy.

Have you found your perfect nude yet?

Let it snow! feat Gelish and Ms DoubleXL

Hey loves!

It's been a long week! So Ms DoubleXL from QSF and I got together with our girlfriend Fabs, from  healthycurvesinmtl, to paint our nails, drink wine and just let our hair down. Oh and did we ever. Ha!

Sarah was in the mood for nails with a winter theme. Seeing that she's a Gelish convert, we used Up In The Blue as a base color. I added one coat of Gelish Champagne for some sparkle and stamped silver snowflakes on her nails.

The index was painted in Gelish Sleek White, the gradient was created using SH Insta-Dri colors and more snowflakes we're added. I also painted the words "Let it snow" on the thumbs and added one lonely snowflake.

My girls and I might not be very fond of the snow but we all agree that these nails are great for the season! Come back this week to see what Fabs got done!

Beach ready with Sandy feat CND gel and Gelish

Hi guys!

Every single computer in my home decided to quit on me! So that's why this blog has been a little dry but I haven't stopped painting nails and I have been accumulating material for you guys.

Let's talk nails!

I'm slowly but surely taking clients again so today I thought I'd start with pictures of the latest set I worked on. Sandy might be tiny in size but this chick has a huge personality! I love clients like her because it just makes the whole experience more fun. Doesn't feel like work at all actually!

Sandy is off to Cuba with her hubby so she called on me to hook her up with a french manicure but with a twist. She's a very active woman who wants pretty nails without too much maintenance so I gave her a very natural gel overlay using CND products. At the request of her husband (the man knows what he likes) I also gave her a french manicure using Gelish in Black Shadow for the tips. Sandy decided that her pinky fingers would wear an accent and chose to go with one coat of Vegas Nights (love that glitter) and the tips in Midnight Caller which is a gun metal grey.

I'm glad to report that Sandy is a very happy customer and so was her hubby. Expect to see her hands again after the holidays!

Red For The Holidays feat. Zoya Blaze

Hey loves,

This is a quick post with a simple swatch of a polish that I plan on wearing during the holidays; Zoya's Blaze from the Ornate Collection. I love the holographic quality of this polish. Very sparkly.

Enjoy,

I love polish uh... duh. feat China Glaze Light As Air

Happy Friday!

I'm still Gelished up and my nails are finally growing back out! I'll continue with the back to back Gelish sets until I get to a reasonable length but in between these manicures I usually put together a few looks for fun.

This ode to nail polish was perfect for a lacquer freak like me. I did a gradient on the thumb and ring finger using China Glaze Secret Periwinkle, Light As Air and Essie's Play Date. CG Secret Periwinkle was used on all the other fingers. Finally, I stamped the nails using Maybelline Color Show in Amethyst Ablaze. It's only once I had already uploaded the pics that I noticed that I hadn't done such a good job of cleaning up my ring finger (gradiants are a little messy). Still,  you see what look I was going for.

Looks like lacquered love to me!

God, Music and Laquer feat Gelish Up In The Blue

Hi guys,

I wouldn't normally post two days in a row but I wanted to show you guys this look I did on my Gelish nails before the regrowth got too bad to post... I finally got the chance to play around with my Cheeky stamping plates! I really do love those freaking plates. There's a wide variety of images so they cater to every style. There were also some stamps that I was wanting to mess around with so I decided to give them a try once I gave myself a new gel polish manicure.

This set is all Gelish. I used Up In The Blue and Black Shadow for the thumb and ring finger. There is also one thin coat of Champagne on the fingers in blue.

These are the kind of nails that make people at my job think it's okay to randomly grab my hands so they can get a better look at my claws. Flattering but slightly annoying and quite frankly... unsanitary. Sigh. The nails are nice tho... #LOL

I need a vacation... Ramblings and Nails

Hey guys!

Another Monday... Feeling deflated.  I need a vacation. Not a "stay-cation" either (def: you're on vacation but stay your ass at home). Luckily for me my home girl Fay Dangerr called me to make me an offer I cannot refuse...

She wants to go on vacation! A girls' trip!

Guess where she wants to go...

Polish of the day! OPI's Congeniality Is My Middle Name

Hi guys!

Thank God it's Friday... Took the day off to run some errands but before I head out I wanted to post a simple manicure I had done on myself before my current set of gel polish nails. The polish of the day is OPI's Congeniality Is My Middle Name. This polish was easy to work with and pretty much opaque in 2 coats. I added paw prints and a smiling doggie using Essie's Good As Gold.

Cute.

Neutral Yet Edgy? feat China Glaze Sunset Sail

Hi guys!

Man my nails have been a mess lately. I've just been neglecting them, not giving myself manicures or moisturizing my cuticles enough and the cold weather doesn't help either. Urgh. Well I got sick of watching my nails break the second my free edge would grow out so I'm wearing gel polish until I get to a decent length. I'm already missing my long nails...

Sigh.

So I've been nursing my nails back to life which got me in the mood for some fresh paint (I had been nail polish free for over a week!). What you'll see below is two coats of what could possibly be my new favorite neutral: China Glaze's Sunset Sail. On the ring finger I printed a delicate design using Wet N Wild Black Creme, I then painted the thumb in the same black and added one coat of OPI's Metallic 4 Life.

Enjoy,
Vee...xox...

Neutral with some edge. Makes me wanna wear black lace!

Swatching Time! ft OPI's The World Is Not Enough

Hey guys!

I have been soooooo good about not buying nail polish like I used to (though I miss those days). However when OPI came out with the James Bond collection I just had to scoop up two colors to appease the beast inside.

Today I'll be showing you a swatch of The World Is Not Enough. I'm not even a James Bond fan but I love the idea behind this collection. This polish has been described as being brown based but it looks taupe to me... Anyhoo! It's beautiful. Neutral but still interesting. Click on the pics to make them bigger.

Sweet Chocolate for Fay Dangerr...

Hey guys!

I've been a busy bee but all work and no play does makes Vee a very dull girl so I was very happy when my girlfriend and client Fay Dangerr called me up to get her nails done. Fay had no idea what she wanted to do to her nails but she did know that she didn't really want to add any enhancements. She also expressed to me how annoyed she was with her breaking nails and how she missed her long claws. With that in mind I recommended that she try Gelish. I explained to her that Gelish would give her the added strength her nails need.

After going through my stash she finally settled on a shade called Sweet Chocolate which is a rich brown with gold shimmer running through it. Brown polish might not be your cup of tea but this one is definitely a stand-out. Right before top coating Fay's nails I stamped a delicate moon design on her ring fingers using Essie's Good As Gold.

Classy and neutral but so far from boring!

Enjoy,
Vee...xox...

This manicure will last Fay a good two weeks or more with no chips. Loving the shine.

Special thanks to Emmee from Click, Flash, Buzz for the lovely pictures.
