Fashion with Vee - Muffins are to be eaten, not worn.

Hey lovelies!

Okay so the cool weather clearly isn’t keeping the girls in town from making ROOKIE fashion mistakes. I know a picture is clearly worth a thousand words but just in case you don’t know what I’m talking about I’ll give you two clues: MUFFIN. TOP.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this girl’s shape. The travesty here is that she paired that top with those pants. A slightly looser pair of jeans would have been the better choice here. Even a longer shirt wouldn’t be able to completely hide what I like to call “the cushion”. Being aware of your shape and dressing for your shape will help you avoid mishaps such as this one.

Because the truth is that the only muffin top I wanna see at 8 o’clock in the morning has to look like this

And not like this

Until next time!

Happy Birthday... To Me!

Hey guys!

Monday was my birthday. I don’t have anything against aging per se but I must admit that turning 27 is so strange to me. I was still adjusting to being 26 so what the hell am I supposed to do now? lol Well who ever said that “you’re only as old as you feel” wasn’t lying because I don’t feel my age at all, but I guess that’s a good thing.

Today I’ll be showing you my birthday mani. This one is special to me because it was a gift from Jon. It’s a very popular polish that has been on my mental wish list for a while but I just couldn’t find a way to justify buying, what I consider to be, a pretty expensive polish.

Deborah Lippmann’s Glitter In The Air aka GITA. You’ve seen it. And if you’re a lacquer junkie like me then you’ve spent many nights googling swatches of it online. I absolutely love this polish. I have been wearing it for four days straight. You read that right. FOUR DAYS STRAIGHT (with no chipping might I add). If you’ve been following my blog then you know that that is a long time for me. This polish is very sheer so I started with a coat of China Glaze’s Sea Spray (a light bluish grey) and then added a couple coats of GITA. Ahhhh Perfection. The only bad thing about this polish is that you kinda have to shift the glitter around the nail so that everything looks balanced.

Love it!

Okay the second thing I want to show you is one of the gifts I received from my baby sister Mims (not her actual name lol). I did receive more than one gift but out of all the things she gave me, this one was my fav. I have never been a label whore however I do enjoy high end products. My only problem is the guilt that I feel once I’ve made my  purchase! So you can only imagine how giddy I was when Mims hands me a Coach bag. I open the box and inside is the cutest wristlet. It’s so handy and cute. I love it (but I love you more sorella! xox)

Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday and made the day special for me.

‘Til next time!

Purple rain, purple rain...

Hey there!

Hope everyone is doing well. Just popping in to show you my latest mani. Last night I just couldn’t decide which color I wanted to wear so I asked my Honey which color he'd like to see on me. He picked purple so I broke out into song:

“Purple rain, purple rain… Purple rain, purple rain…”

I know, I know… I just can’t help it. Purple just automatically makes me think of Prince but enough of that on to the polish! I used OPI’s Purple with a Purpose as a base and since the boyfriend put in a request for glitter, I topped it off with Nicole by OPI’s One Less Lonely Glitter.

Boyfriend approuved!

Thanks for reading!

I came to bring the pink!

Hey lovelies!

Hope you guys are having a good week, it’s Wednesday and your girl’s got the pink to get you back in sync! I’m keeping things simple today and after seeing the shade I picked I think you’ll understand why.

Nicole by OPI's Coral Denominator is not your average pink. Why? Because it’s packed with awesome gold shimmer that’s why! What’s not to love about that? I think this color is awesome for every style because it’s not too ‘in your face’ but definitely far from boring. Though the color speaks for itself I still went ahead and stamped the phrase “I am happy” on my ring finger with Konad special polish in white, just because that’s exactly how I feel as I write this post. So there you have it!

Happy Pink Friday beauty freaks!

Pink makes me happy, what about you?

Enjoy,

Bring on the green!

Hey cutie pies!

Though I might be sad that summer is coming to an end, I have to say that I am happy about all the green shades that we’re seeing with the new fall collections. The polish I’m going to show you today might not be new but I think it fits right in with the current trend. Greens are big this season; dark greens, military greens, khaki greens… You get the point, lol. OPI’s Here Today Aragon Tomorrow is a good buy for the season . Its got a jelly consistency, which is why 3 coats were in order for this mani.

I sealed everything with a coat of Sèche Vite (my favourite top coat OF ALL TIME) and then stamped some leaves on my ring finger using Sally Hansen’s Lickety-Split Lime.

Uber cute.

Kinda like a garbage bag green…

Enjoy!

When pink manis go wrong!

Hey guys!

Feels like I haven’t blogged in a minute! It’s been a busy week filled with school, work, family obligations and even a wedding out of town (I’ll tell you guys about that in another post) but I’m back to show you my latest manicure.

Last night I thought I’d get get ahead of the game by creating a look for this week’s Pink Wednesday post. I had chosen Pink by Sinful Colors, stamped a zebra print in black using  Konad’s special polish in black and then added a french tip with Nero by GOSH. Sounds hot right? WRONG! Once on the nail, Pink doesn’t look anything like what you see in the bottle. Mucho disappointing. Even the boy-toy noticed! I was out in the yard taking pics and he says “Why are you holding that pink bottle when your nails are obviously red?” After explaining that the color was acting up he just said, “Sounds like false advertisement to me…” I’m thinkin’: Uh… YEAH! Oh well, it’s still a nice look just absolutely nothing like what I had originally envisioned.  Guess I’ll have to come up with something else for Wednesday.

Some of the pics were taken in my yard and others were taken in the new light box Jon made for me. I’m hoping it’ll help my pictures look clearer.

Not pink but still sexy…

The Switch Up!

What do you think about the matte look?
(Using China Glaze’s Matte Magic)

Think Pink!

Hi guys,

I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend. I know I sure did! Well it's Pink Wednesday again and  though he won't admit it, I think Jon enjoys it. He keeps telling me I look great in pink and gets just a bit more googley-eyed with every flash of my pink nails. I'm not complaining.

Let's talk about today's look. Well first, I cut my nails. I loved my long claws but nails are like accessories to me so I gotta switch it up every now and then or else I get bored. These short nails needed something bold to make 'em stand out and Sally Hansen’s Flashy Fuchsia  was the perfect polish for the job. I then added a snakeskin design with Sally Hansen’s Presto Pink.  I love the Insta-Dri polishes, they’re great for stamping.

Well, I’m off to my next class. Happy Pink Wednesday!

I just love these two together...
(no flash – it was cloudy out)
Like a match made in polish-heaven!
