LLG anniversary... already?!?

OMG.

You guys will be reading this in the morning but it is 12:34 AM as I type this. I just realized June 5th last year was when I posted my very first entry. I’ve now been blogging for a whole year! Man I had no clue what I was getting into when I first started doing this (I’m still learning as I go) but I’ve learned a lot and it’s been so much fun. My hope for this new blogging year is to see new growth and consistency at LLG. Much love to anyone who’s ever stopped by to read my jibber-jabber and peep my nail porn.

I’m in the process of moving so keeping up with the blog has been harder but I’m not quitting on you guys! Here are a few pics of the Gelish nails I’m currently wearing.

Cheers to a new and clorful blogging year!

Fiery nails feat China Glaze's Riveting

Hey guys!

I am so sick of the rainy weather we’ve been having out here in MTL… Urgh. It’s so damp and wet all the time... The perfect weather for me to catch a cold.  Snif, snif, cough, cough. Urgh.

Today I want to show you a swatch of  China Glaze’s Riveting from the Capitol Colors collection. I had picked this up while shopping at Sally’s in Plattsburgh. This lacquer is so beautiful. Very eye catching and reminiscent of hot coals.

Gelish Porn! feat Amazon Flirt and some Queen Sized Flava!

Hey loves!

I know I haven’t had much regular polish on here lately but this Gelish business is like crack cocaine: your girl is HOOKED!  Last night I had the chance to meet up with my friend and fellow blogger Sarah aka DoubleXL from Queen  Sized Flava. If you haven’t checked out her blog yet I really don’t know what you’re doing with your life.

End of shameless plug

Sarah and I met up at my spot to catch up, talk business and for me to convert her to my Gelish-ed ways. Miss DoubleXL was down for the experiment and she already knew which shade she wanted to try. After seeing a picture on my Facebook she fell in love with the killer neon green that is Amazon Flirt. What you see here is 3 coats. I could have gone for a fourth since the free edge of Sarah’s nails is pretty white and therefor more visible under this shade however I didn’t want the added bulk so we stuck with 3. Once that was done she let me have a little fun with some 3D nail art. We kept it simple with little black bows that I made myself with black acrylic powder.

Much love to DoubleXL for the editing and watermarking of the pictures.

Enjoy the nail porn!

Funky French feat Gelish Ambiance & Gel II

Hi guys!

I hope you guys aren’t getting tired of my Gelish posts, I’m just completely obsessed with this stuff! Now that my nails are finally back to a respectable length I decided to give myself a French manicure with a twist. What you see here is two coats of Gelish’s Ambiance, a lovely shimmer in a slightly pink base along with 2 coats of Gel II’s Another World on the tips. Classy but fun.

Enjoy!

The return of nurse Jenny feat OPI Gel Color in Princesses Rule!

Happy Saturday good people!

The lovely nurse Jenny came back last night for another set of Gelish nails. I really care about the service I give and I know that Gelish is an awesome product but I was curious to get Jenny’s feed back after her first set. She loved it! Being a nurse in pediatric surgery is hard on the hands, you ‘re always washing them or soaking them in some kind of solution. Jenny was able to get a good 2 weeks of chipless color and she couldn’t have been happier. She was also surprised to see how her nails have grown!

Just so we’re clear, Gelish is not a nail growing product and it won’t improve the health of your nails if your claws are already damaged. The reason Jenny was able to achieve such noticeable length is because Gelish is very strong and protects the nail therefore she experienced no breakage.

Nurse Jay picked another soft shade (due to hospital rules). This time she opted for OPI Gel Color in Princesses Rule! Though I do have a preference for Gelish (een over Shellac) OPI Gel Color is another product in the same family. Pricesses Rule! is a sheer pink loaded with shimmer. We did 3 coats to get as much opacity as possible.

Another satisfied customer!

Throwback pics feat Essie's Eternal Enthusiast

Hey loves,

Today’s post is a quickie and a throwback. I wore this polish back in March on the first day at my new job, hence the very short nails. Essie’s Eternal Enthusiast was the perfect pinky nude shade. Super polished. Very work appropriate.

Happy Pink Wednesday feat Claire's Mood Polish

Oh how I’ve missed posting manicures for Pink Wednesday!

*dramatically places hand over heart*

Today’s polish is a fun one.  I picked this baby up on a quick trip across the border with my girl Bella. Claire’s Excited/Bored mood polish is pretty cool. Excited is a coral pink and appears on the free edge of the nail or when the nails are exposed to cool temperatures. Bored is the peachy pink shade that appears on the nail bed or when the nails are exposed to warm temperatures. This polish was streaky and I had to do 3 coats before I was satisfied with the overall look of my nails. You’ll notice that this lacquer has a satin matte finish but that is easily fixed with topcoat.

I’ve placed my hand in cold and hot water to show you the different shades.

Enjoy!
